knitting, men’s socks, pattern, work socks/boot socks, double knitting?

just me asked:


I’m looking for a great pattern for men’s work socks. Ideally I’d like them to be double-knit for extra warmth & strength, but I’d settle for another equally great hearty pattern. I’ve found some pictures and samples on the web, but I can’t seem to find a pattern and need your help!

    I really think the last site is probably the one you want, but am including the others as they have some excellent hints on doing heels!

    You might want to look for the Patons booklet called Pull Up Your Socks, or ask your library to get Charlotte Schurch’s Scensational Knitted Socks for you to look at. Both have socks and methods of designing socks that may be what you want. You can buy sock yarns in both sock and worsted weights that are reinforced with nylon already for wear. Something with 80/20 wool/nylon will be warm as well.
