Its Me asked:
I am planning on traveling from Chicago up into Wisconsin and Minnesota. My trip will take me up I-90 to I-94, stopping in Chippewa Falls, WI to visit the Leinenkugel’s brewing company. Then I am planning to go to Minneapolis, MN to the Mall of America and visiting a friend in Wayzeta, MN.

I wanted to spend a day snowboarding on this trip, somewhere in the areas around or between these stops. I prefer slopes that are peaceful and wooded over the terrain courses most boarders like.
Any suggestions? Please provide links to resorts. Thanks!

Have fun!
Live in WI myself, there’s a few along the way.
Cascade and devils head are near Baraboo about an hour north of Madison. I like cascade more and you cant miss it, it’s right next to the freeway.
Granite peak is in Wausau, also probably the biggest of all of them. Can’t miss that one either. I think trollhaugen is very near where you want to go as well.
Lutsen is a bite farther north in MN but is pretty nice too.
Check out onthesnow.com and go ski.com, both list all the resorts in WI, MN, and MI as well as available links.
Want a CO experience but dont want to travel all that way? check out Mt Bohemia in the tip of the upper peninsula of Michigan. Bring your skills!!! You’ll need em!
