What do you wear out clubbing in New York when you might have to queue and its freezing out there?

I’m off to New York this weekend for my 21st birthday and am planning to go to some clubs/bars but I do not know what the wait to get in will be like and my planned outfit, even with a big coat, isnt exactly -12C friendly!! What do people do? Wear boots and jumpers and take the strappy sandals with you to change and check the rest? Please help!!

Its the best way- long coat( better fur) and dancing sandals with you in the bag – you feel comfy and changing boots in ladies room takes just 2 seconds

I pesonally tough it out. However a long stylish coat will somewhat work, It is not the best thing to do. Just tough it out.
